There are lots of arts offerings in our NYC parks throughout the summer....  check out  or        The schedule for cityparksfoundation's SummerstageKids is at

You may also want to check out the performing arts centers of our local colleges, like Queens College & Queensborough, as well as Flushing Town Hall and Queens Theatre in the Park.

I am so happy to be back with you, to see your smiling faces each week and make some beautiful music together! I pray you and your families have enjoyed a safe and happy summer!

As we journey through another school year, let us remember,

          "He has brought us together,
Each of us a different gift to bring,
We'll serve him forever, even if the cost is everything...

The reason we sing, the reason we lift our voice,
Is more than just making harmony,
The reason we sing is to praise the One Who gave His Son to be
           The reason we sing..."

This year, we hope to continue building our repertoire of liturgical and seasonal music, as well as prepare for our annual performances.

During the course of the year, we will add to our knowledge of musical concepts and musical history, emphasizing the elements of music: form, rhythm, melody, harmony/texture, tone/timbre, and expressive elements. I'm hoping to introduce you to my rainbow-colored percussion tubes, as well as to other percussion instruments. And, time permitted, we will hopefully begin our recorder program in the upper grades.

I encourage you and your families to take full advantage of the free music programming available on TV on PBS ( and at our Queens Borough Public Library (see, as well as some of the excellent arts programming at our neighbor on Northern Blvd., Flushing Town Hall. I will try to update this page with postings of other musical events as I become aware of them.
Please check my webpage regularly for information, song lyrics and must-see links. (Just be sure your parents are aware if you are accessing Youtube!!)
